“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (Romans 8:26).
Saints, there’re times when we don’t have enough details or information about a situation we want to pray about. Sometimes, we may even know the details, but don’t know the right words to use in prayer.
At such times, you can trust the Holy Spirit to help you pray rightly & effectively! However, He doesn’t do this in spite of you. His intercessory ministry for you is through you; He doesn’t pray for you by Himself! He has to do it through you or through some other Believer.
The Holy Spirit carries out His intercessory ministry on your behalf with intense, wordless groanings; deep sighs that can’t be expressed in articulate speech. This isn’t the same as speaking in other tongues.
When you speak in other tongues, though your mind doesn’t understand what you’re saying, you’re speaking a heavenly language in articulate speech.
But when the Holy Spirit intercedes through you in this way, there’re no words uttered; all you have are groanings, deep sighs, sobs & moans. At such times, you’re enraptured in heavenly bliss; you’re entranced in divine ecstasy as the Holy Spirit intercedes through you.
When the Spirit moves on you like this, become excited & encourage it; He’s doing something supernatural through you! He’s making intercessions for you or for some other Believer or for the Church through you.
What a glorious ministry of the Spirit! Through this kind of intercessory ministry of the Spirit, the Lord guides & keeps guiding many of His children away from mistakes, mishaps & troubles! Whenever you feel those uncontrollable urges or prayer twinges in your spirit, respond quickly.
