Someone you do not know is standing among you.
A reading from the Gospel according to John 1: 19-28

Then, "Who are you, then? Water Elijah? '' They ask, he said, "but not me, '' he said.
"Prophet is you come? '' When asked, he said," No, '' he said in response.
They asked him, "Who are you? Give an answer to those who sent us; So what you say about yourself? '' He asked.
He said, "straight the way of the Lord as the voice of one crying in the desert sand," said the prophet Isaiah about myself, "he said.
They are sent by the Pharisees said to him, "If you are not the Christ or Elijah or the Prophet, why are neither baptized? '' He asked.

ASH WEDNESDAY | what is ash wednesday in the bible

ASH WEDNESDAY  | what is ash wednesday in the bible Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. Its official name is "Day of Ashes," so called because of the practice of rubbing ashes on one's forehead in the sign of a cross. Since it is exactly 40 days (excluding Sundays) before Easter Sunday, it will always fall on a Wednesday- there cannot be an "Ash Thursday" or "Ash Monday." The Bible never mentions Ash Wednesday-for that matter, it never mentions Lent. *Lent* is intended to be a time of *self-denial*, *moderation*, *fasting*, and the *forsaking of sinful activities* and habits. *Ash Wednesday* commences this period of spiritual discipline. *Ash Wednesday* and *Lent*are observed by most Catholics and some Protestant denominations. The Eastern Orthodox Church does not observe Ash Wednesday; instead, they start Lent on "Clean Monday." While the Bible does not mention Ash Wednesday, it does record accounts o...

Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ our High Priest, I come before Your throne today, and I speak this blessing: May the Lord bless you and keep you; and may the Lord make His face to shine upon you; may the Lord be gracious unto you and lift up His countenance upon you; and may the Lord give you His peace. I speak and release health and healing to every physical body. I come against every form of infirmity; I come against every form of sickness and disease; I come against every physical malady in the name of Jesus Christ, and I declare that these sicknesses and diseases are cursed at the root and that the blessing of divine health freely flows into their lives like streams of living water. A new Beginning

A NEW BEGINNING 1. Be with people (Mark 1:1-8) God’s ultimate plan to save the world was about to be fulfilled through his own son, Jesus Christ. John the Baptist was supposed to prepare the way. John the Baptist was there with the people. The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went to meet John the Baptist. They were open about their life, and even ready to be baptized by him. Though John was dressed in an unusual manner, the people came to him. John was with the people. People need help. They want to talk about their life, hurt, ill-feelings, struggles to forgive, and most of all forgiveness of sin from God. As a disciple, we should imitate John, i.e. being with people. A disciple’s lifestyle should be surrounded by people. 2. Be in step with the Spirit (Mark 1:9-13) After Jesus was baptized, he received the spirit, which descended on him like a dove. God was excited about his son, as we see he openly declared his love for him. The scripture say...
